The Graduate Institute of Sustainability Management and Environmental Education (GISMEE) at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. 
GISMEE is a premier academic institution in Taiwan dedicated to interdisciplinary research and education in sustainability science and management. Our focus addresses pressing global challenges, including climate change impacts, extreme weather events, sustainable governance, green transformation, and sector-wide adaptation across government, business, and civil society. Our mission is to foster talent at the master’s and doctoral levels by equipping students with professional knowledge and interdisciplinary skills to develop innovative problem-solving capabilities towards sustainability. We welcome applicants who hold a doctoral degree in the fields related to sustainability science, sustainability management, sustainable innovation, or sustainability transitions to apply for the position. Ideal candidates shall demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching in sustainability related subjects and a strong background in interdisciplinary research and cross-sectoral collaboration. 

Position Title & Rank
•    Position: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor
•    Rank: Commensurate with qualification and academic experience
•    Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree from an accredited domestic or international university.
•    Anticipated Start Date: February 1, 2027

Key Research & Teaching Areas
Candidates should hold academic training and practical expertise in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Management, Finance, Accounting, Resource Economics, or closely related disciplines. Demonstrated familiarity with AI or generative AI technologies in these fields is required. Prioritized research areas include, but are not limited to:
•    Transition risk and assessment
•    Climate resilient society/economy
•    Green finance and ecosystem service modeling
•    Corporate sustainability and strategic governance
•    Circular economy
•    Environmental and sustainability education
•    Application of AI and data analytics in sustainability

Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
1.    A strong record or potential in industry-academia partnerships, university-industry collaboration, and cross-sector research (government, industry, and academia).
2.    Proven ability to bridge academic research with corporate sustainability and real-world practices.
3.    Demonstrated experience in international research networks and collaboration.
4.    Experience applying AI tools to sustainability-related research or practice.
5.    Demonstrated excellence and enthusiasm in university-level teaching and curriculum development.
6.    Strong potential for impactful academic publishing and securing research funding.
7.    Commitment to fostering the internationalization of the Institute.

1.    Application Form: Including a cover letter stating concisely the motivation to apply for the position and academic strength, a research plan and a teaching proposal for three courses.
2.    Curriculum Vitae and Personal Statement (Autobiography).
3.    Copy of Ph.D. Diploma.
4.    Complete List of Publications: Please identify the most important research work as your representative publication.
5.    Three Letters of Recommendation: One of the letters shall be required from the doctoral dissertation advisor. Under the circumstances shall you not be able to request a letter from the dissertation advisor, a formal written explanation must be provided.
6.    Supporting Documents: Any additional evidence that can strengthen application such as research impact, teaching performance, or industry engagement.
